Weekend Recap

Thursday
My sister in England had her baby, I was so excited about that and was anxiously waiting for some pictures so I could see what he looked like. I was happy that he was a healthy baby boy. I also spoke to my sister Ganiyat for a little while and caught up on a few more things. I cooked some chicken, mac & cheese with string beans. I really have been slacking cooking "real food" it feels like during the weekdays while I work I don't even have time to do that and also Malan had become very fussy with what she eats. We went to bed pretty early that night also because Marlan had work the next day.

Friday
Baby Marlan turned 5 months, I cant believe how fast time is flying by and how big he is getting, it really is upsetting to me for some reason how him and Malan are just growing right before our eyes. Today me and the kids were pretty much couch/ bed potatoes. I stayed on the couch for the majority of the day while Marlan was in work. Marlans little cousin Bookie came over to just chill because she was bored at home and wanted to get out of the house. It felt like I barley saw Malan all day today also, because she was in my room laying down for the most part of the day, I would go in there every once in a while to see if she needed anything and to bring her some food. I even went in and she was fast asleep.

Saturday
My friend Lindsey from work came over with her kids so we could hang out, she usually comes once every weekend but shes been pretty busy lately so she hasn't been over the past two weeks. We was chilling, talking, and watching the kids play and mess up the apartment. I was so excited today also because I made baby Marlan a bottle and I was holding it telling him to come get it to see what he would do. At first he was laying on his stomach then the next thing we know he pushed himself up into a sitting position. I was sitting there in shock like did he really just do this, I couldn't believe it and I didn't even have the camera. After that he drunk his bottle and was cool after that. We ordered some pizza hut for us and the kids, I had my plate on the floor and baby Marlan really "arm crawled" towards my plate, so I moved him back and went to get the camera so I could video him because this was the first time Ive seen him do this. He kept making his way towards my plate. I was so shocked and happy. My babies are growing up so quick its kind of sad

Sunday
I woke up to find Marlan sprawled out laying on my legs, smiled then laid back down and went to sleep. That's a shame I didn't even know he was laying on me, I didn't even hear him come in "last night", I must of been really tired. Today we all was being lazy for the most part, I had some sewing I wanted to do all weekend really and still by today I didn't get any of it done. Me, Marlan, Malan and baby Marlan was laying in bed really all day today you can say. I took a little nap before having to be at work later tonight.
Overall I had a good weekend with my family and enjoyed Lindsey and the kids coming over. Me and Marlan had the usual conversations we have, I guess I just cant "get over" a lot of things. I do love that man with all of me though!

Weekend Recap: A little creative

I made some chalk boards for Malan with an old bookshelf. It was pretty easy and she really likes it. I grabbed some inexpensive rust-oleum chalk board spray paint and also primer from walmart. I sprayed each board with one coat of the primer, then I sprayed the chalk board spray paint. It took around 10 minutes (if that) to dry, I wiped them of with a damp rag then gave Malan some chalk and let her play
The before, after, and the bow I made
I did my first "refashion" project with a dress I purchased from Goodwill, it turned out better than I expected for my first time. I hit a few bumps and made it harder than it actually was but in the end I loved the outcome. I will have to take a picture wearing it so you can see how it fits. Before it was really big, I took in both sides and also took in the sleeves so they would be fitted versus hanging of. I also added a cute little bow and threaded out the edges to make it look a little different

I edited Marlans brothers shirt by taking off the sleeves and threading out the material on each side and also the bottom of the collar. It looked nice once he had it on.

Me and Malan made some rice crispy white chocolate covered "cakes". We didn't make that many this time, it was just something nice to do to pass time

Malan and baby Marlan, I love the relationship they have already

I also got back in the gym this weekend which was nice after not going for a while due to mother nature not being so much on my side. I can't forget that I also ordered some shoes offline and let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised how fast they got there and also how cute they were.
All and all I had a nice weekend... Every weekend is nice when I'm spending it with the ones I love though :)

Please excuse the "not so good" pictures. I quickly took them on my tablet

Weekend Recap: Chicago Trip

Thursday
I was looking through my phone and seen these of baby Marlan and his daddy, taken today. I don't know where I was at.

After Marlan got of work we went drove to Chicago, I barely slept that day either and I was the one who ended up driving because I knew either way if I drove or not I still wouldn't go to sleep regardless how sleepy I was. As usual though when me and Marlan get to talking I wake right up. It was nice going down there because his mum or the rest of his family haven't saw Malan in months and they have never seen baby Marlan. The family where excited to see the baby and was saying how big he is. We got there pretty late so we didn't go out or anything.
First time Marlans mum seen baby Marlan ... Malan and her chunky face :)
Baby Marlan and his cousin KJ sleepning

Friday
Marlans cousin Kashay was over his mums house with her baby Kj who is 2 weeks older than baby Marlan. That was the first time we seen him since he was born and the first time she also saw baby Marlan. Marlan went outside to run a few errands and I sat talking to Kashay and the family. We laughed at the kids playing and getting to be around each other. Malan was acting so funny with everyone, she didn't want no one to pick her up or anything. Its like she was literally glued to me, anywhere I went she was right beside me. Everyone was saying how much of a happy baby that baby Marlan is. All he was doing was laughing and smiling, oh and lets not forget blowing spit bubbles.
Malan and her little cousin KJ(Kashays baby)
Kashay curled my hair :)
We was supposed to go to the mall to see if we could pick up the kids some things for summer and also to see what type of things they had there, so Kashay curled my hair for me and it looked super cute. I did feel like I was sitting there forever and would say "people really sit here this long getting there hair done". Kashay is really good with doing hair though, all different types and all different styles (it doesn't even have to be yours lol)
Anywhoo I got dressed and got the kids dressed, by the time I knew it time was passing and passing. We left the house and it was probably around 6pm, from Marlans mums we went to his cousins house so she could see the kids and we could say hay. We ended up staying there for a while and didn't even end up going to the mall. We went back to his mums and I stayed up talking to Kashay and playing with the kids (long story short)
Marlan said my hair looks nice like that :)

Saturday
We went to the mall today, Marlan wanted to get the kids a couple pairs of shoes but they barley had any in Malans size and for the baby he just got him some for when he starts walking/ his feet get bigger(just so he has them). We came back to his mums house and got something to eat seeing as we were starving.
Malans little auntie and her cousin were decorating eggs for Easter, Malan didn't want to get involved though. Instead she sat down and ate then started back being right by my side. It would have been nice for her to decorate the eggs though but like I said "she is funny acting". Although basically all weekend she was playing and talking to Marlans dog. Malan would be sitting down laughing, rubbing and playing with the dog. It was so cute.
My baby had a long day!
Malan and her cousin Jakiah

Sunday
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE
Well today we drove back home from Chicago, the drive seemed pretty quick. We stopped at Walmart before we went home though so I could get Malan some type of mini Easter eggs. When we got home I didn't even bother putting away the clothes or anything for that matter. I pumped milk for the baby, took a shower then laid down for an hour or less before having to get right back up for work.

I swear this whole weekend I felt like I barley slept and it went super fast. Although it seemed to be a lot of "bs" going on, I still managed to enjoy my weekend with my little family and it was nice seeing faces I haven't seen in a while, also new additions to Marlans family ... Back to work!

Weekend Recap

My weekend begins on Thursday morning, seeing as that's when I get off work and wont return until Sunday night.

On Thursday I ended up going to the gym after work finally then to Walmart to grab some things for my upcoming project I'm planning on doing for Malan. I also grabbed a movie from the red box for me and Marlan to watch while we ate later that night. I must say that Twilight breaking dawn part 2 was a really good movie and defiantly worth watching. I've watched all of them now and I'm pretty sad that there will be no more coming out.
On Friday me and Malan went to Walmart yet again. Poor Malan was so tired she ended up falling asleep in the shopping cart and walking around I kept hearing people like "aww how cute" "she must be tired" "look at the little girl"

Yes I stopped to snap a picture of this cute moment, my baby girl sleeping while I was getting some shopping done.
I brought some things for the apt, but my favourite purchase of the day was my sewing machine. After searching long and hard trying to figure out what machine I wanted to get and which one would be a good price for a start up first time machine, I ended up going with the Brother CE8080PRW Project Runway

I was so excited to get this, I went to the self check out at Walmart (bad idea) I was there for over 20 minutes while they tried to assist me because the stupid machine wouldn't work, Malan woke up by this time and was acting very fussy because she was ready to be at home laying down instead of sitting in the uncomfortable trolley. Finally after what seemed like forever we got to go home.
Baby Marlan was sleep per usual, he's really been sleeping a lot recently. My co- worker said its normal because he is having a growth spurt. Me and Malan was also going to start her little project but it was getting dark outside and it was pretty cold so we thought to save it for Saturday seeing as Marlan said it would be warmer (very wrong)
On Saturday we was all hanging out, the baby played a lot with Malan, he's becoming a lot more aware of his surroundings and wants to follow you everywhere. He loves being with his dad Marlan. Anytime he comes in the room baby Marlan will look at him until he picks him up. He laughs a lot with Malan and keeps rolling over. Now we have to watch him when hes on the couch so he wont fall. I cleaned up a little with Malans help of course. Then I plugged up my sewing machine so I could see what it was made of. Watching videos on YouTube helped a lot with what to and not to do. I like my machine so far, and the different stitches it does are really cute.
We was expecting company, Malan ended up falling asleep while waiting and not long after that baby Marlan went to sleep and I followed. I didn't even know Marlan had came back from the gym I was so tired. My friend from work ended up having to cancel which was fine with me because I got to catch up on a little sleep and the kids would see her family tomorrow anyway seeing as it will be her sons birthday

Now leading me to Sunday, the day I pretty much dread because I know I will be returning to work later at night. Don't get me wrong, I do like my job, I just like sleep and spending time with my family a lot more.
Well I woke up around 8am with baby Marlan while Malan and Marlan stayed sleep. When baby Marlan got his bottle he ended up falling back to sleep anyways but I was up because I had to pump as well as I really wanted some pancakes and eggs so I made some. I got in the shower then woke the baby up to put him in the tub then later on Malan so they could be ready for the party at chuck e cheese that started at 11am. We still managed to be 1 hour late though. Malan had so much fun, she was running around playing, dancing, eating and making new friends. It was so nice seeing our daughter enjoy herself like she did. Baby Marlan was sleep for most of he time we were there with his dad. When he was awake he was just laughing and looking around like "where are we". After leaving the party we all came home and took a "nap". All of us was so tired.
All and all i enjoyed the weekend spending time with my family and watching my children enjoy themselves. Now I'm back at work sitting her eyes watering and steady yawning. I need to find something to do to keep me awake and occupied because I still have 8 hours left to go :(

Weekend Recap

02/06/12

Well I hope everyone had a nice weekend.
Thursday I got to wake up beside Malan and her father, although I was the one getting up when Malan woke up excited and jumping on the bed. I was looking forward to today, because I had a "chill day" planned for me, Marlan and Malan later that night. Marlan would go to the gym and as he was on his way home, I would run him a bath seeing as his body hurt so he could relax while I cooked. When he finished bathing, and the food was done, we would all eat then lay in bed and watch some movies till we fell asleep. As well as laugh and have some conversations. The day obviously didn't go like that. I was running Marlan a bath, he came home and said he was going down stairs for a while and I can do it when he comes back upstairs. Also I couldn't cook because he wasn't quiet hungry yet, due to him drinking his shake. Well eventually he came back upstairs and it was around 10pm, Malan was already in bed asleep. I was so upset I just cry ed while I talked to him and explained all I wanted was to have a nice family night together, seeing as I'm always working or tired. I was so looking forward to spending time with my family, but once again I was let down and I don't think he really understood where I was coming from. Eventually he ended up saying I could still cook if I wanted to and we can watch a movie. I skipped cooking seeing as it was late and we layed on the couch watching a movie. I was happy I got to do that although what I planned I would of enjoyed alot more. I know some time is better than no time!
Friday, Marlan went to Iowa City and me and Malan stayed home. We was in bed most of that day and was being so lazy. We spent maybe a hour or so in the living room and that's only because I was cooking and Malan was in her playpen.
Saturday, Marlan was still in Iowa City and me and Malan was home. In the morning I put her in the bath and put her pj's on (I know, it's morning time but I know where just relaxing at home). After that she fell right to sleep, so I got in the shower then layed down with her. I watched tv for a while then she finally woke up. We layed in bed watching different movies until our ride came so we could go to the library real quick to fax something of. We came back home and skyped my cousin in England for a while, I made some Spaghetti, we ate, then layed back in bed and went to sleep after a while.

Sunday, Marlan came home pretty early compared to when he usually comes. Again he went downstairs and stayed down there a while with his cousin. Me being me obviously said something, like come on now, he's been gone the whole weekend and I just want to spend SOME time with him and Malan together. He finally came upstairs and we layed down and watched a movie. I was supposed to take a nap, but that didn't happen. We were flicking channels from the super bowl to titanic. By the time I knew it I had to leave the house to go to work :(
Overall my weekend was pretty good, I know I got to spend all my time with my baby Malan and at least some time with her daddy

Weekend Recap

01/22/12

Well overall I had a good weekend. The usual being lazy, catching up on sleep, spending time with my daughter and her dad, cleaning, cooking and all that fun stuff. I could'nt go to the gym thou on Friday due to "female problems", so I stayed home and did my work out video which was good.
Malan had started to stand up by herself a lot more now, especially when she holds food in her hand, she will stand there for a long time and even do her little dance she made up lol. It is so cute. Me and her dad have started to pick her up and one of us will be away from her and call her to come to us. Malan stands there doing her little dance but she is so scared to move one foot infront of the other. Although she tryed it but didn't quiet manage to pick up her leg to far off the ground and fell. She didn't hurt herself. When shes ready though she will begin to take those little steps by herself, for now she will continue to stand up by herself and make me and her daddy smile.

Also on Friday it was my little sisters 18th birthday. She lives in England so I didn't get to see her or anything but I did messege her on my blackberry, which is nothing new. Modinat (my sister) had a party and I think she enjoyed herself which was nice. Its crazy thinking that my sister is 18 already. I haven't seen her since 2008 so I still remember her being that young. Even when she tells me shes going to drink and things like that it is so shocking to me because I still think shes so young. In England the legal age to drink is 18. Although I don't drink myself it's her life so no matter what my opinion is on that, thats all it will remain is an opinion.
I called my dad this weekend to so I could talk to him, seeing as I only really talk to him on my days off so I call him anytime between Thursday and Saturday. He didn't answer though, or he didn't call back so I might just try again sometime this week.
I had to make a new facebook page because I said I wanted the new timeline thing they have on facebook and ended up not liking it but they wouldn't set my profile back to the way it was and I hated the way the timeline app made it look. I just deleted my old page and created a whole new facebook, which I didn't mind because the facebook I deleted didn't have much going on seeing as that was pretty new so I didn't loose out on friends or anything like that, everyone just added my new page or I added them.

I also painted my nails this weekend seeing as I wanted to pass some time before I went to wash clothes. I painted them black and gold which was pretty pointless because my nails got ruined not even 20 minutes later. But good thing I did them just to pass time and not because I was going somewhere nice.

I found out my sister is having a boy which is pretty much what I thought, but seeing as my family is mostly all girls that kind of swayed my thoughts. My sister is due in May and my other sister was born in May so lets see when baby decides to come.
Finding out my sister was pregnant was pretty hard for me, especially looking back at everything I went through, I would never and still don't want non of that to happen to her. They say everything happens for a reason so if shes happy so am I.
Only thing my dad still doesn't know that shes pregnant which is pretty awkward with me knowing and talking to him asmuch as I do. Also she talks to him but shes still not quiet ready to tell him. I just hope everything works out for the best.

So there you have it that was my weekend in a nut shell. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Now its back to work!
